1. Client identity

1.1. The service must be hired by the actual person who holds the identity document used to hire it. Only that person is entitled to guarantees, support, compensation, claims and indemnities related to the service hired.

1.2. Detectives Medellín will verify any sign of identity theft when necessary and will void any contract that fails to meet this condition.

2. Data privacy and retention

2.1. All the information the client provides when requesting a quote, when hiring us and during the investigation is confidential. Detectives Medellín guarantees its confidentiality.

2.2. Some clients resume an investigation after it has closed or need to recover evidence they have lost. For that reason we keep the evidence and the case data for two (2) months; after that period they are deleted according to the agency’s protocols, unless the client has asked for them to be deleted earlier.

2.3. The processing of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy.

3. Investigation

3.1. The agents assigned to each case are obliged to carry out the investigation work hired by the client, as stated in the service invoice.

3.2. The evidence and data collected are delivered at the end of the contracted time. If evidence of very high probative value is obtained at an early stage, the agency may deliver it sooner.

3.3. One day of investigation equals a shift of five (5) to eight (8) hours, during which the agents apply different strategies and make use of the time the situation in the field allows in order to complete the day’s work. The same applies to each of the days hired.

4. Prices and payment

4.1. The amount agreed according to the type of service and the investigation time holds until the end.

4.2. To begin any investigation, at least 60% of the agreed amount is required. The remaining 40% is paid at the end of the investigation, for delivery of the final results. The initial percentage may vary depending on the service.

4.3. If the agency offers to deliver evidence early, halfway through the contracted time or sooner, and based on it the client decides to close the case, the cost of the investigation is settled at 60%. That 60% does not cover days beyond the midpoint of the contracted time.

5. Refunds

5.1. Any refund is subject to the conditions above.

5.2. If the client cancels an investigation already under way after paying 60%, that payment is non-refundable.

5.3. If the client paid 100% of the service and cancels the investigation, they are entitled to a refund of 40%. That percentage may vary if the service has already passed the midpoint of the contracted time.

5.4. Refund fees, depending on the payment channel used, are borne by the client.

6. Legal and safety

6.1. The safety of the work and of our agents comes first. If an investigation drifts toward work other than what was hired, that work must be hired again.

6.2. Any investigation that may pose a danger to our staff, or in which an objective other than the services we offer is found, is stopped immediately and refunded in accordance with clause 5.

6.3. Detectives Medellín is obliged to hand over to the judicial authority the information from investigations that it requires by court order.

7. Business services

7.1. The scope, deadline and price of each business service are agreed in writing before work begins.

7.2. Every proposal includes a confidentiality agreement.

7.3. Detectives Medellín does not guarantee results that depend on third parties, such as the award of a tender or the approval of credit.

8. Business Solutions services

8.1. The services in the Business Solutions section are provided by Efficient AI Algorithms, with teams in Medellín (Colombia) and Phoenix (Arizona, United States), in partnership with Detectives Medellín. Each engagement is formalized in writing with closed scope, deadline and price. Deliverables are produced with artificial intelligence tools and reviewed by a professional before delivery; when regulations require it, they are validated by a lawyer, certified public accountant or licensed professional, as stated in the proposal.
